A job interview is a two-way conversation: the company gets to know you, and you find out whether the role suits you.

Preparation

  • Reread the job ad and highlight the most important tasks.
  • Find out about the company, for example on its own website.
  • For each key requirement, think of an example from your experience.

Tell examples in a structured way

A simple order helps: situation, task, what you did, result. This keeps your answers specific and easy to follow.

Your own questions

Prepare two or three questions, for example about onboarding, the team or the next steps in the selection process.

Online interviews

Test your camera, microphone and connection beforehand and find a quiet place.

After the interview

Write down what was discussed straight away. A short thank-you message is possible but not required. If a date for feedback was mentioned and has passed, you may politely ask.
